Karina's Baby Shower

August 28, 2012

I had a blast working with Karina on the invitation for her baby shower. The hostesses called it a "feather the nest" theme. Love it!

Fishing you a very Happy Valentine’s Day from my boys. We’re Hooked on you! 😉 My youngest helped me put this 50-piece jigsaw puzzle together today that shows my favorite Degas painting. I think I bought this puzzle when my oldest was a baby, thinking I’d educate my kids with a little art history. My son loved the ballerinas and said their teacher looks just like Mr. Miyagi. I’ll take it! Dreaming of more colorful foliage right now and brainstorming ideas for sticker designs for 2019’s Hike it Baby 30 Challenges. This sticker was from last September’s challenge. There will only be two in 2019, in April and September. We’ll see what we can figure out! My son told me I needed to share this on IG, so here you go. I finished the stars on this galaxy-dyed onesie today and it’s heading off to a mom-to-be tomorrow. Shhhhh, it’s a surprise!

As much as I love to make these (and other fun items), I dream of having a studio space that would make it easier... easy-to-clean floor, big, industrial sink, more than one craft table, lots of natural sunlight, and the one thing I can actually do right now: a proper smock! I actually change into an old set of PJs when I’m painting stars because the paint splatters a bit and I don’t care if fabric paint gets on old PJs. It’s pretty silly-looking when I’m in my garage, in the middle of the day, painting in polka dot PJs. Well... my kids think it’s silly.

What would be in your dream office/craft space? Thanks for an eclectic and great 2018. To quote my 98yo grandpa, “May your new year be peaceful, productive and full of fun, solvable challenges.” Happy new year! Wise words. ♥️ •
Created by @emilymcdowell_ This acrylic, canvas painting hangs in the bedroom I sleep in when I stay at my parent’s house. I painted it my senior year of high school and I find it funny how, even more than twenty years later, I still see all the little parts that bugged me back then. Not too shabby for a teenager who only visited snow once a year, eh? From now til Tuesday, December 25, this fun, Christmas cootie catcher is only $1 in my Etsy shop (link in profile). Download and print as many as you need. Show your kids how much fun these were when we were kids. Folding instructions are included... in case it’s been a while since you’ve folded one. 😉

We called these cootie catchers when I was a kid, and I have no idea why. What were these called when you were a kid?
