Influencer One-Sheets: Down With Adventure

I had the privilege of creating a one-sheet for Melody that she was planning to take with her to the Outdoor Retailer trade show; with plans to meet up with brands to partner with as an influencer. Funny enough, I became a fan of hers even before I knew she lived close to me. A mutual friend shared about Melody and her family on Instagram and I was totally wowed. Her family was featured on REI’s blog last spring, complete with a beautiful video. Then I got to meet Melody in person when we both attended a retreat in southern Utah and we realized that we only live like 20 minutes from each other. Small world!

Melody and her husband are on a mission to hike in every National Park with their kids, and so far they’ve visited over 20! Their youngest daughter, Ruby, was born with Down syndrome and their goals are to show the world that having a child with special needs doesn’t mean you can’t still go on adventures.

For Melody’s one-sheet, we used a handful of photos taken by the talented Arika Bauer from Zion Adventure Photography. We included a little blurb about their family, the brands she’s been able to partner with already, and other ways the Forsyth family has been featured on podcasts, websites, and videos.

I made two versions for her; one meant to be printed, the other meant to be shared digitally and has fully-clickable links to her Instagram, videos, and podcasts.

I love how they turned out!

30 Things - Hike it Baby

I had the privilege of creating an activity sheet for Hike it Baby back in 2017 titled: 30 Things to do Outside with your Kids. I made it very graphic-heavy and it was a really fun challenge to arrange it all. Folks could print it out and check off the items they found or even stick it in a sheet protector and use a dry erase marker. I also made a PDF version where the checkboxes could be clicked using Adobe Reader.

The first one went nearly-viral on Facebook with hundreds of Likes, Comments, and over 8000 Shares. It was really awesome to see.

The popularity prompted us to do a couple more. We’ve also made Spanish versions of all three of these.

30 Things to do in Your Neighborhood was created in 2020 when the world was quarantined and getting out to parks or some outdoor spaces was difficult.

30 Things to do at a National Wildlife Refuge was created in cahoots with Portland & Vancouver National Wildlife Refuges.

These have been so much fun to create, I hope we can do more in the future. What else could we do? 30 Things to Find at the Beach? 30 Things to Find When Camping? 30 Things to do on a Night Hike?

Family Forest Fest

I had the privilege of creating artwork for the Family Forest Fest; a camping experience designed for families with young children. In 2017 they had events in two locations; one on Whidbey Island outside of Seattle, the other at Leaping Lamb Farm in Alsea, Oregon. In 2018, they had one event in Alsea, Oregon. They hosted a teddy bear hunt, outdoor play for kids, live music, bubble professionals, a movie night, a costume carnival, night hikes, family yoga, and so much more. There were also outdoor gear vendors there with gear for campers (and kids) try out. It looked amazing and I was sad to see them stop the events when it was becoming too difficult to make it sustainable.

I designed t-shirts for the events along with magazine ads, social media graphics, event maps, signs, and banners. Here's the adult t-shirt from 2017. It was printed in kelly green for staff members and navy blue for adult attendees.

The kids tees were printed on lime green.

I also created signs to identify different parts of the camp and a map of each location so campers knew where everything was. Some spaces were even sponsored.

For the 2018 event, they were able to use many of the same signs, but we did revamp the t-shirt designs:

For the adult tees, they went with this lovely shade of dark green along with some lighter green and gray options:

Rosy Maple Social

I had the privilege of working with Brittany on a logo for her business. She lives in a part of the country where they get Rosy Maple Moths. Google them, I had no idea such a beautiful moth even existed! They look like a moth from the world of Dr. Seuss or maybe The Muppets. They were great inspiration for her logo. Below is what we came up with:

In addition to the full-color logo, I also made sure she had a handful of different color variations of her logo, plus the moth silhouette in solid colors. That way she has lots of options to use when she creates social media graphics for her business.

The Lotus Style Boutique

A short while ago Mandy and I worked together on a logo and branding for her clothing boutique and I love how it turned out. A lotus is such a fun motif to work with and it can be so versatile. The four stars represent the members of Mandy’s family too. Such vibrant colors, I love how it turned out!!

The back of Mandy’s business cards serve multiple functions for her customers where she can write in their clothing measurements and sizing. Handy!

Mandy also had a banner made for when she attends fairs and shows.

As a thank you gift to her clients, we created little circle stickers to adhere on little measuring tapes. I love how they turned out!!

Lastly (for now), she had the same sticker artwork printed onto a Popsocket for her phone. So cool!!

Laura's Holiday Card - 2019

Laura’s awesome holiday cards are always creative and they never disappoint; and this year was no exception. I also need to give her family credit for being so enthusiastic about these fun holiday cards.

She took photos of everyone in the family separately and I pieced them together in Photoshop. I LOVE how it turned out. The comic book theme with the text totally meshed with the silliness of the photo.

And how about a zoom in on those joyriding kids, freaked out parents, and a terrified pug!

Jaxon's 6th Birthday

Jaxon had an awesome garbage truck themed party for this 6th birthday. His mommy JoAnna and I worked on some fun printed items for his big day. We started with basic green garbage trucks because they are pretty common, but then Jaxon asked his mom to ask me to change them to red, because that’s what the garbage trucks look like in his neighborhood.

After the invitations were printed and sent, Jaxon had another request for the red garbage truck: could I add the grabbing-arm that is on the side of the trucks. So I made it holding the number six for the favor labels, welcome sign, and t-shirt graphic.

I LOVE the mini trash can favors!!

Ian's 1st Birthday

For his 1st birthday, Ian wanted a monster struck theme and his mommy, Syrita had his party at a children’s art studio. So, what to do? Create an invitation with both monster trucks AND art!
