For his 1st birthday, Ian wanted a monster struck theme and his mommy, Syrita had his party at a children’s art studio. So, what to do? Create an invitation with both monster trucks AND art!

When my friend Vera was having a November baby, a group of friends and I planned a Halloween-themed baby shower for her that also doubled as a little Halloween party for our kids. Invitations were sent via Facebook event, so I created a cover image for the event. I had so much fun turning a simple witch graphic into a babywearing witch, see the little green baby??
Then I created and printed a welcome sign for the front door. Can you see the little baby’s crib in a window of the castle?
Lastly, I made these little “wishes” cards for Vera to have as a keepsake.
I love making these custom "wishes for baby” cards. They can be such a wonderful keepsake for new parents to go back and read when their baby is older.
My dear friend Joey had these beautiful photos taken of her son and she wanted to send them to family and friends for Christmas, so I whipped up a few holiday card concepts and this one was the winner.
We made sure to include an elephant to pay tribute to their oldest son who passed away shortly after he was born. Love you, Jack!!
I love the subtle, gold sparkle print and the knitted sweater background. The beautiful photos were taken by Jennifer Lyn Holmes.
Cari and her family moved last year and it was fortuitous timing that a holiday card and moving announcement could be sent together. She snapped some great photos of her kids in matching Christmas PJs and then we put the moving announcement on the back.
Using the same fonts, we added their address to the back. And don’t worry, that’s not their real address.

Laura’s family welcomed a new puppy in 2018, so she brainstormed some fun ways to include their new pug in their holiday card. Their holiday cards have always been out-of-the-ordinary and loads of fun, so that somewhat became the theme for the card; introducing Mr. Bean into the family… that way he knows what he’s getting into.
Using Photoshop, I created a bulletin board and added all of the holiday cards the Kaschak family has sent in the last eight years. I’m proud that six of them were from me! If you search through my blog, you can see each of the ones Laura and I worked on together. Then Mr. Bean and the kids were added in front. The kids are holding their favorites from over the years.
The back of the card had a beautiful photo of Laura’s kids and a simple greeting. Such a fun card to work on, thanks Laura!!

As soon as we finished designing a holiday card for 2016, Laura was already brainstorming ideas for 2017. She and her husband wanted to show off their favorite holiday movies and it was a blast coming up with the best ways to do that. I did some creative Photoshopping with movie posters and headshots of each of their family members and this was the final result.

My friend Jen has a kindergartener and his teacher was working on a project with the class; teaching them a bit about geography. The teacher sent out a paper to parents asking them to ask friends and family who don’t live in their town to send messages claiming they sighted the Gingerbread Man in their city or sometime during their travels. If they could include a photo, then fantastic. She even went on to say that email messages are fine, and even fictional messages are okay so long as they help the kids learn about different places on the map. They were mapping each sighting on a big map in the classroom.
I kicked it up a notch and had WAY too much fun in Photoshop. Here are the messages I sent:
“Hi Mrs. B's Class!
We are the Wong Family: Alex, Bill, Tommy and Matthew. We're friends of Jaxon's. We were exploring Arches National Park in Moab, Utah earlier this year and you wouldn't believe who we ran into: The Gingerbread Man! He must have been on vacation, exploring the desert. He was so nice by sharing some gumdrops with us and we shared granola bars with him on the trail. He totally photobombed us too! What a stinker!

It's Tommy and Matthew again, say hi to Jaxon for us, we miss him! We were on a road trip with our parents and we stopped at the Bonneville Salt Flats in western Utah to see if we could watch some race cars break land speed records. Lo and behold, we saw The Gingerbread Man too! He was scoping out some rocket cars and enjoying the weather. Thankfully it wasn't too hot, but wow, it gets bright when the sun reflects off of the salt! Sunglasses are a must! Wonder where he was headed next?

Tommy and Matthew saying hi and sharing yet another Gingerbread Man sighting. He must have had the same road trip plans as us this year. We ran into him in the north shore of Lake Tahoe, California and he joined us for a swim in the crystal-clear water. We bid farewell when we got wrinkly fingers and advised him to do the same. Since he's made of gingerbread, we didn't want him to get soggy!
I hope he had a great time on the rest of his road trip!

It's the Wong Family again, Tommy and Matthew. We were hiking with some friends in Big Cottonwood Canyon in the snowy Wasatch Mountains of Utah this week and we ran into our old friend, The Gingerbread Man. He said he was hoping to get in some skiing before another snow storm came through, and we hope he found some slopes, because it's supposed to snow again tonight!

A big part of me hopes my youngest son’s kindergarten class does a similar activity… so I could make more photos. Hahaha!

For 2016, there was a lot of brainstorming with Laura wanting to show both the good and seemingly bad to some Christmas traditions. Below is the final result.
I’m betting that getting her kids to cooperate was the HARDEST part of this project.
